Hope everyone had a relaxing festive season…oh, and happy new year! I’ve only just started to recover from the massive food coma from the past 2 weeks, it amazes me how much I crave fresh and healthy food after the festive binge, so this smoothie bowl is very much needed. I wanted to make a smoothie that had a bit more of a spicy cinnamon kick to it, yet still had a bit of a festive theme…as I tend get the January blues pretty bad usually aha. In addition, I also had some plums that were nearly on there way out, so thought I best throw them into a recipe asap, and lo and behold Cinnamon Girl was created. Based off the DC Western character Cinnamon, this smoothie is the perfect amount of sweet and spice (and all things nice…sorry, had to); and with a hint of Acai berry powder is sure to give you the wake-up your need to start off your day.
- 3 Plums (cut and pitted, but keep skin to bring out that gorgeous vibrant colour!)
- 2 Bananas
- 2 tbsp of Cinnamon Powder
- 6 Medjool Dates (pitted)
- 1 Cup of Coconut Water (or any preferred milk)
- 1 tbsp of Naturya Acai Powder
- Garnish – Dates and Coconut Shavings or whatever preferred
Cut all ingredients and add into blender and mix until smooth.
Cut an extra 3 dates for garnish and scatter coconut shavings – or whatever you prefer.
Enjoy. Would love to know how you guys recover after the festive season? Do you go on a crazy health kick or do you prefer to slowly incorporate healthier options back into your diet? 🙂
