Geeky Xmas Breakfast Inspo

I don’t know about you, but I always love to start off Christmas with a special kind of breakfast. And what better to way to celebrate Christmas than to kick-start the festivities of your day with Xmas-themed (and of course, geeky) breakfast ideas? Today I’ve got a few quick and simple recipes that are not only super healthy, but will also keep your hunger at bay right up until your Christmas dinner! Whether you lead a plant-based diet, or just love something sweet and fruity in the morning, these two smoothies will definitely put you in the right mood. So, let’s get started…

A (Very Festive) Gamora Green Chia Pudding


This is actually a variation of the Gamora Green Smoothie Bowl that I’ve posted on instagram about a month ago. It was pointed out to me that it looked very Christmassy (not my intention) when I decorated this chia pudding variant, so I figured it might be suitable for today’s post. If you know my cosplays as well, then you will also know that Gamora is a character I’ve cosplayed in the past, while also GOTG being one of my favourite Marvel movies/comics…hence the name.

The main ingredient to achieve this Gamora shade is Spirulina powder, which is an algae super-food that curbs cravings (yes, not eating ALL of that Xmas selection box!), and is a fabulous source of protein. Its a super simple breakfast idea that be prepared the night before as well, so all you need to think about is the prep for Christmas dinner – if you’re the lucky one who’s making it that is ;).


  • x2 Bananas
  • 1 Apple
  • Bowl of Chia Seeds
  • x2 tsp of Spirulina Powder
  • 1 cup of Coconut Milk (or Soya Milk, if you prefer)


  • 4 Raspberries
  • Coconut shavings


Add all ingredients apart from chia seeds into blender and mix until smooth. Then pour into bowl (or cup if you prefer) and add chia seeds and mix until chia seeds soak up smoothie to make it a ‘porridge-like’ texture. Then add festive decorations of your choice or ones similar to match image above.


Candied Dalish Draft




Its probably pretty obvious that I’m a massive fan of Dragon Age, seeing as I have cosplayed 3 characters from the series! In Thedas, the most festive ‘holiday’ if you will, is Feast Day, which feels more like a mixture of Christmas and Halloween…given that pranks are usually involved as well. I’ve got a soft spot for the Elves in Dragon Age, more specifically the Dalish Elves, the more nomadic wanderers who are still considered a mystery among most Thedosians.

This smoothie is made with more traditional festive ingredients such as cinnamon, apple and dates – giving it a candied sweetness. With its earthy colour, it reminded me of the colour-scheme associated with the Dalish, and so Candied Dalish Draft was concocted! Its a really naturally sweet smoothie and with the added dates, it’ll keep any sweet-tooth satisfied 🙂


  • x2 Small Bananas
  • 1 Apple (peeled)
  • Half an Avocado
  • x5 Dates (pitted)
  • 1cup of Coconut Milk


  • x4 Blueberries
  • Gluten Free Buckwheat (or Granola if preferred)
  • Half tsp of cinnamon


Pour coconut milk and chop up bananas, avocado, apple and dates to then add to blender and then mix until creamy and smooth. Add decorative blueberries, buckwheat and cinnamon to give that candied taste a festive kick!

The Mandarin Breakfast Banana Split


If you’re looking for something extra special and requires slightly more prep, then this is the breakfast for you! Based off the Marvel villain of the same name, this chocolate/mandarin orange banana split is the ultimate indulgence for a Christmas breakfast. Furthermore, its all made from fruit, making it super healthy and won’t leave you feeling as though you’ve over-indulged on Christmas Day. I’ve used raw cacao powder to make the mandarin/chocolate nice cream in the middle, which can be prepared the night before so that it’s there and ready to eat first thing in the morning!


  • 1 Cup of Coconut Milk
  • 1 Banana (Large preferably but if not use 2 small ones)
  • 2 Mandarin Oranges
  • Half an Avocado
  • 2 tsp of Cacao Powder


  • 1 Banana
  • Gluten Free Granola
  • Blueberries
  • x3 Strawberries


Add coconut milk, then chop up mandarins, bananas and avocado to add to blender. Then add 2 tsp of Cacao Powder and then blend until smooth. Freeze overnight (or if preparing on the day freeze for 2 hours before serving), and then cut up banana and add blueberries, strawberries and granola to replicate traditional banana split.
